turni

Turni is transitive: you turn something. If you turn yourself, say turni sin or turniĝi, because a bare mi turnis leaves the listener waiting for the object that never arrives. English lets one verb do both jobs and this is where that habit costs you. Note the direction endings in the last example: dekstren and maldekstren take -n because they answer where to, not where. Returni is to turn back, and turno is a single turn or a bend in a road.
