means both the system of a language and the book that describes it, exactly as in English. The adjective is gramatika, correct grammatically, and a for the opposite. This word carries a bit of weight in Esperanto specifically: the whole language was published in 1887 with sixteen rules, and the Fundamenta is still the reference text that speakers appeal to when they argue about usage. Learners who arrive expecting exceptions are often unnerved by their absence, which is why the standard advice is to stop looking for hidden traps and trust the rule.
