The grammar is tidy: what you promise is the object, the person you promise it to takes , and an infinitive follows directly with nothing in between. needs no . A clause works too, and unlike after it stays in the ordinary tenses, because a promise reports a future fact rather than imposing a will. The noun is promeso, and promeson is how you keep one - will be understood but sounds like a translation from English.
