Tempo covers both time in general and a particular period, and it is the noun that sits behind the grammatical term verbtempo, a verb tense. After a quantity it takes da rather than de, so it is multe da tempo. Used adverbially for how long something lasted it goes into the accusative, as in longan tempon.
