Tiam belongs to the correlative table: the ti- beginning means "that" and the -am ending means "time", so tiam is literally "at that time". Its partner is kiam, and the two pair up naturally in a single sentence. Being an adverb it never takes an ending, so there is no tiaman to worry about.
