se vende or se venden?

The rule

In the passive se, the thing being acted on is the SUBJECT, so the verb agrees with it: se vende una casa, se venden casas. Learners freeze it as the singular and write se vende casas, which the standard treats as a mistake. Native speakers write it constantly too, which is why the wrong form looks so familiar.
