Bernard . , l'appelle. , l'appelle .

Detective Bernard is famous throughout the city. When there is a difficult problem, the police call him. This morning, they call him for a strange death in a big building.

. . « », . « . ' . » Bernard .

A man has died in his living room. The police think it is a suicide. "He was alone," says a police officer. "The door was closed. Nobody came in." But Bernard looks at the room carefully.

Bernard , . . « ' », -. « ' . » l' .

Bernard sees a trace on the floor, near the window. A small trace of earth. "This man did not kill himself," he says. "Someone came in through the window." The owner of the building becomes nervous.

« », Bernard. « . , . - ? » .

"Look at his hand," says Bernard. "A ring is missing. This man always wore a famous, very expensive ring. Where is it now?" The owner says nothing.

Bernard . « , ' . l'. . , . »

Bernard goes on. "Last night, someone came in here. This person knew the man. They took the ring. Then they left through the window, and they left this trace of earth."

« ? » l'. Bernard . « tous », -. « . . » essaie .

"But who?" asks the officer. Bernard looks at the owner. "You have the key to all the flats," he says. "And look at your hands. They have the same earth as the trace." The owner tries to flee.

l'. , . « ... l' », . « . ' . »

The police stop him. In his jacket, they find the ring. "I... I only wanted the money," says the owner. "You are right. He did not kill himself."

« , », Bernard. « . » .

"An innocent man was dead, and they almost believed it was a suicide," says Bernard. "But a small trace always tells the truth." The owner is taken away by the police.

, Bernard . , , , . C' . .

In the evening, Bernard goes home. Tomorrow, there will be another problem, another city, another trace. It is his job. And he is the best.
