Personne est à la fois un nom féminin (a person) et un pronom négatif (nobody, no one) qui requiert ne dans la proposition : personne ne sait (nobody knows). Le pronom personne est toujours grammaticalement masculin singulier même si le nom est féminin.
La grande personne (an adult, a grown-up) est l'expression utilisée avec les enfants. En personne (in person, personally) s'oppose à une représentation ou à une communication à distance. Quelqu'un est l'antonyme positif de personne en tant que pronom indéfini.
