Mes is the plural form of the first-person possessive adjective in French, meaning "my" before any plural noun, masculine or feminine: mes parents (my parents), mes clés (my keys). Like all French possessives, it agrees with what is possessed, not the speaker, so the form does not depend on whether the speaker is male or female.

Going plural collapses the gender distinction that exists in the singular (mon / ma); both turn into mes. The final s is silent in isolation but links as a /z/ when the next word starts with a vowel: mes amis is pronounced mez-amis. The parallel forms are tes (your, informal) and ses (his/her/its); the polite and shared possessives are nos (our), vos (your, formal/plural) and leurs (their). See the French possessives guide for the full set.
