Jen points at something and presents it, the way a French speaker uses voici or voilà. It is not a verb, so nothing needs to be conjugated after it and the noun stays in the nominative: jen la vero, never jen la veron. When jen introduces a clause the ordinary rules resume inside that clause, which is why jen kion mi volas diri has -n on kion.
