Ĉi is not a word in its own right; it is a small particle that pulls a ti- correlative closer to the speaker. Tiu is "that one" and ĉi tiu is "this one"; tie is "there" and ĉi tie is "here". Ĉi itself never changes shape, so every ending lands on the correlative beside it: ĉi tiun homon, ĉi tiuj homoj, ĉi tion.
