Weather in Esperanto is refreshingly tidy. The root gives the noun and the verb pluvi, and the verb is used with no subject at all: pluvas means it is raining, pluvis means it rained yesterday. There is no dummy to insert, and adding one marks you out as translating from English. -- and -- do the rest of the work, so o is a downpour and o a drizzle, and a raincoat is a pluvmantelo.
