Mem is emphasis, not reflexivity, and that is the distinction English blurs by using "-self" for both. Si is the reflexive pronoun that points back at the subject; mem simply insists that it was that person and no other. Mem never changes shape, and it follows the word it emphasises rather than preceding it.
