Finir est un verbe regulier du deuxieme groupe. Finir de + infinitif indique l'achevement d'une action : j'ai fini de manger (I have finished eating). En finir avec (to be done with, to put an end to) exprime la resolution definitive d'un probleme.

Finir par + infinitif signifie to end up + gerund : il a fini par accepter (he ended up accepting). A n'en plus finir decrit quelque chose d'interminable. Fin (f) est le nom derive, et final / finale l'adjectif associe.
