HSK 2.0 or HSK 3.0?

This list is HSK 2.0, the six-level syllabus. HSK 3.0, the 2021 standard with nine levels, uses bigger lists: its level 1 alone is 500 words. Check which syllabus your exam uses before you pick a list. Counts are cumulative.

How many words is HSK 6?

HSK 6 is 5,000 or more words in HSK 2.0, the six-level syllabus this list follows. The count is cumulative: it includes the 2,500 words of HSK 5 and below. This list has 2,046 of them, the ones with a Kilo Lingo word page so far. HSK 3.0, the 2021 standard with nine levels, is bigger: its level 6 is 5,456 words.

How long does HSK 6 take?

The official HSK 2.0 guidance gives no study time for HSK 6, only its vocabulary: 5,000 or more words. It is the top of the old scale; plan in years rather than months.
