tu or vous?
Not a grammar question. Getting it wrong is a social mistake, not a linguistic one.
The rule
tu is one person you are close to: family, friends, children, and other students. vous is everyone else, and it is also the plural for any group at all. When you do not know, use vous. Being too formal reads as careful; being too familiar reads as rude.
