Havi is "to have", and it is a plain transitive verb, so whatever is possessed takes the accusative: mi havas domon, ili havas multajn librojn. Esperanto builds its perfect tenses with esti and a participle, so havi never helps another verb the way English "have" does. For "there is", reach for estas rather than havi.
