Ĉiu is the ĉi- correlative of individuals: every one, each one. In the singular it means "each", and the plural ĉiuj means "all". It takes the full set of adjective endings, hence ĉiun homon and ĉiujn sinjorojn. Its neighbours in the correlative table are kiu, tiu, iu and neniu, and the grid is the real lesson rather than the single word.
